What are the processes for the placement of absorbers and how to select absorbers?

2024-7-15

The flow arrangement of the absorber refers to the flow arrangement of gas and liquid in and out of the absorber. There are mainly countercurrent operation, parallel flow operation, absorbent partial recycling operation, single or multi-tower series operation, according to the production task, process characteristics, combined with the advantages and disadvantages of various processes, the average driving force of mass transfer during countercurrent operation is large, the degree of separation is high, and the absorbent utilization rate is high, so the design uses the conventional countercurrent operation process.

The performance of the absorber is one of the keys to determine the effect of the absorption operation, and the selection should consider the following aspects:

(1) the solubility should be large to improve the absorption rate and reduce the amount of absorbent;

(2) Good selectivity, good solubility of solute components, no absorption of other components or little;

(3) The volatility should be low to reduce the volatilization loss of absorbent in the absorption and regeneration process;

(4) The viscosity of the absorber should be low at the operating temperature, and it is not easy to produce foam, so as to achieve a good gas-liquid contact in the absorber

Situation;

(5) Little or basically no corrosion to the equipment.

(6) Cheap, easy to obtain, good chemical stability, easy to regenerate, not easy to burn, etc.

In general, any kind of absorbent is difficult to meet all the above requirements, the selection is based on the specific situation and the main factors, both considering the process requirements and taking into account the economic rationality.
